Edinburgh footage: exploratory sample

Real images, limited sample. A read-only viewer for a small set of frames from a public pig dataset, shown with their capture timing and, where supplied and aligned, the dataset's automatic tracking predictions. This is not a representative sample, not validated behaviour, not a welfare result, and it is separate from the simulated clusters: none of these pixels produced the simulated feature values.

What the behaviour labels can express

    Automatic behaviour vocabulary

These are the available names in the source’s automatic behaviour field. A prediction is not verified behaviour or a welfare assessment.

    Manual annotation vocabulary

These labels belong to the source’s separate manual annotations. No manual annotations are loaded in this viewer.

Predicted labels in this displayed sample

A label missing from this sample does not show that the behaviour is absent. An activity without its own automatic label may still be visible in the footage.

Exact labels, codes and source fields

The original automatic file also includes pen zone and orientation. The current seven-column measurement projection omits these fields; their omission does not describe everything the original system represents. A zone is not proof of contact or welfare.

The manual label list does not supply operational definitions for investigating, nose-poke-elsewhere or play-with-toy. Those names alone cannot validate a behavioural interpretation.
